What is the Huron Music Association?

The Huron Music Association (HMA) is a 510(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the entire Huron Music Department through fundraising and volunteer efforts. We are led and organized by parent volunteers. As a music student parent, you automatically become a member of the HMA. Welcome! We also welcome the support of alumni, community members, and business partners. Thank you!

How are Funds used?

All funds raised directly support the music program, including continuing education for faculty, event supplies, sheet music, guest teachers and master classes, instruments, equipment, music lesson subsidies for students, and local trip support. Our goal is to ensure that the Huron music programs continue to provide the most robust, enriching experience possible for all our students.

How do we fundraise?

Donations support specific ensembles and the HMA General Fund, which supports shared department initiatives. You can earmark your donation for a specific ensemble when you donate. There are several different contribution levels—please choose the one that works for you. Select the amount you want to donate next to the box at the appropriate level. All contributions are important and appreciated.

A note about fees: GiveButter allows zero-fee transactions for both donors and the HMA. You are invited to decline both the GiveButter fee and tip. These do not go to HMA and eliminating them does not affect what HMA receives.

What does your donation support?

Huron’s music programs could not thrive without the support of our donors. Each year, we look to fundraise around $70,000 in order to ensure that the music programs thrive. This fundraising budget encompasses a variety of items that range from basic needs to special events. We are grateful for your generosity.

Are you interested in making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your IRA?

The HMA’s mailing address and tax ID are listed below. Please also send an email to HMA Treasurer to notify the treasurers of your planned donation and to confirm how you would like your contribution earmarked.
